Current role: Produces fire alarm CAD drawings and submittals for projects for local authorities in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia. In addition, Tom is the lead IT/help desk support for J.E. Richards, working to maintain the phone and security systems, as well as computer hardware and software for corporate office and field employees.
Experience: Tom joined J.E. Richards in 1989 as a Local 26 apprentice. He worked his way up to foreman. He was then offered a position as a maintenance electrician in a customer’s office. This prepared him to support J.E.Richards’ operations several years later.
Free time: Tom volunteers as a ride coordinator (aka “Senior Road Captain”) for a local Harley Davidson owners group along with a core group of 25 Road Captains. Together they offer members various riding routes throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Virginia, and West Virginia. He looks forward to someday riding the East Coast Highway along California on his Road Glide Harley Davidson touring motorcycle.
