General Motors Spring Hill facility began as a plant for the Saturn line of automobiles. During initial construction, Harlan was one of the first local contractors to be awarded a contract directly with the Owner.
Harlan workers stayed continuously on-site from the original construction through many ensuing years performing various projects involving power installations, heavy conveyor systems, robotics, paint booths, equipment connections, controls, adds and moves.
This project is one of the latest, involving significant assembly line modifications. Harlan was called upon to perform its work by planning around fixed production schedules and conforming with the customer’s objectives for minimizing facility shutdowns.
